Book a workshopI'm a journalism graduate, and I've always believed in the three things journalism taught me: to inform, to educate, to empower. In 2022 I found my way into India's Bitcoin community and found it almost entirely men.
For centuries, women in India haven't had real control over their own money. The one exception has been sitting in plain sight all along: gold, a woman's own Strīdhan. It travels with her, it's hers to keep, and it doesn't ask permission.
BitcoinHer starts with gold, with Strīdhan, with the question of what makes something truly hers. From the history of money we get to Bitcoin: something a woman can hold entirely on her own, without a bank, a husband, or an institution standing between her and what's hers.
“It's not a clever investment. It's an exit door.”
From cozy luncheons to college workshops, BitcoinHer has met women where they are; across cities and campuses all over India.
